New in stock and what we think is the perfect winter read, we have A Dot in the Snow by local author, Corrinne Averiss.
A Dot in the Snow is a beautifully illustrated and heart-warming tale of Miki the polar bear cub. He discovers a dot in the snow and dashes off to investigate. Miki has never met a human before and soon polar bear and human bond and become firm friends.
This is a moving and poignant story set in the challenging polar landscape, and perfect for the Christmas season. It combines the themes of empathy, kindness, and courage. The story is both simply told and heart-warming.
This story of a curious polar bear and a little girl lost in the snow will be one of the wonderful winter CBeebies Bedtime Stories this year. Read by Maureen Lipman, this is a wonderful way for your little ones to wind down before bedtime (and it will available on iPlayer if you miss it).
Manchester based children’s author, Corrine Averiss lives in Northenden with her husband, daughter and cat. Corrine has written two other children’s books - Floss is the Playground Boss and The Boy on the Bench.
This beautiful winter story is illustrated by Fiona Woodcock. Fiona is a full-time illustrator who works on animated films, commercials, and designing stationery. She is the author and illustrator of Hiding Heidi and she lives in London.
